The Hochman Method: K–2

Start your writing revolution with an introductory training in the Hochman Method, an explicit set of sequenced strategies for teaching expository writing that can be integrated into any content area.

Educators will learn specific strategies that build the vocabulary and language skills necessary for future success in writing. TWR faculty present age-appropriate examples and techniques for scaffolding and differentiation. There are opportuntiies to practice and create activities as well as receive feedback from TWR faculty.

This course is intended for educators serving grades K-2 in any subject area.

What is the difference between The Hochman Method: K-2 and Advancing Thinking Through Writing (Grades K-2)?

There is no difference in content - The Hochman Method: K-2 is simply the new name for the course that used to be called Advancing Thinking Through Writing (Grades K-2).

Does this training provide college or graduate school credits?

TWR training does not provide college or graduage school credits. However, if you are a New York State educator, TWR provides CTLE credit upon request with the completion of in-training work and a complete attendance record.
