Frequently Asked Questions

All TWR courses and workshops are taught live online via Zoom.

TWR courses are taught over Zoom. TWR also provides a Google Classroom for each course and workshop where participants can find all course materials and supporting resources.

Access to the Google Classroom provides participants with all course materials including PowerPoint slides, pacing guides, classroom videos, and other resources to support implementation. Participants can also access TWR’s free resource site at www.thewritingrevolution.org/book-resources for additional resources.

In addition, effective 7/1/22, educators that enroll in an introductory course (Advancing Thinking Through Writing, Advancing Thinking Through Writing K-2, Advancing Thinking Through Writing STEM) can redeem a copy of The Writing Revolution book at no additional cost.

TWR provides a certificate of completion upon request and if all sessions have been attended. More information will be shared during the course/workshop.

At this time, TWR courses do not earn college or graduate school credits.

TWR provides CTLE credit upon request and with the completion of in-course work for New York State educators only.

There is an optional culminating activity that participants can complete. TWR also references The Writing Revolution book throughout the course and recommends that participants read the book.

TWR does not offer in-person courses.

The Writing Revolution Course Withdrawal Policy

One Week Before Course Start Date
Participants are permitted to withdraw from a course up to one week before the course’s start date without issue.

Deadline for Withdrawal:
Participants must submit their course withdrawal request no later than seven calendar days before the official course start date. Requests for withdrawal must be submitted via email to the Program Experience team (enrollment@thewritingrevolution.org).

Refund Eligibility:
Participants withdrawing within this timeframe will receive a full refund. Participants will receive confirmation of their withdrawal via email within three business days of submission. Without a withdrawal request on file, a participant with 0 course attendance is still responsible for their enrollment fee.

Transfer and Rescheduling Options:
Participants unable to take the course at the allotted time can transfer their enrollment to a later course by contacting Program Experience no later than seven calendar days before the official course’s start date. Any rescheduling must comply with TWR policies.

Exceptions:
Exceptions to this policy may be considered at the discretion of The Writing Revolution.

By enrolling, participants agree to these terms and are ensured flexibility while maintaining clarity and fairness in the course registration process. Please ensure you are fully aware of your commitment before proceeding with your enrollment.

The courses and workshops are intended to be taken live. However, as a courtesy, TWR records each session and posts it to the Google Classroom where participants have one week to view it in the event that they miss a session due to an extenuating circumstance or, if they would like to rewatch the session that they attended live.

Once you have selected the course you would like to enroll in, you should submit a completed registration form. Once you submit the form, you will see a confirmation on your screen and receive a confirmation email.

If you are registering multiple people for the same course, you can select “Add another participant” on the bottom right of the “Participant Information” section of the registration form.

If you are planning to register a large number of educators in a course (20+), please email enrollment@thewritingrevolution.org for support.

Once you submit the form, you should see a confirmation screen. If the page takes you back to the form, that means your registration was not processed. Successful registrations will also receive a confirmation email.

Please select “School outside of the USA” and fill out all of the information requested.

Payment is required at the conclusion of the course. Billing contacts will receive a welcome email the day before the start of the course, and the invoice after the course’s start date.

TWR sends a Course Information email at least one week before the  course is scheduled to begin, and again the day before the course begins. Please check your spam folder and search your inbox for an email from enrollment@thewritingrevolution.org.

Once you receive the Course Information email from TWR, check that you are able to access the Google Classroom. Then, download the Part 1 of the Course Materials in time for sessions 1 and 2.

TWR provides an attendance form in the course Google Classroom for participants to complete and record their attendance for each course/workshop session.

Course Attendance Policy

Complete attendance for a session of any TWR course consists of the following:

• Registering upon entering each Zoom session.
• Submission of attendance via the TWR attendance form shared in each session.
• Live participation in or watching the recording for at least 75% of the total 120 minutes of each session.

The courses and workshops are intended to be taken live. However, as a courtesy, TWR records each session and posts it to the Google Classroom where participants have two weeks to view it in the event that they miss a session due to an extenuating circumstance or if they would like to rewatch the session that they attended live.

Yes; the course attendance form asks: Did you attend this session live or watch the recording? Select the option “Recording” and your attendance will be counted. This is important to remember as earning a TWR Certificate of Completion is contingent upon your attendance.

The TWR Certificate of Completion is contingent upon a complete attendance record and is emailed to the participant at least one week after the course has ended.

Course Attendance Policy

Complete attendance for a session of any TWR course consists of the following:

• Submission of attendance via the TWR attendance form shared in each session.
• Live participation in or watching the recording for at least 75% of the total 120 minutes of each session.

TWR provides participants (New York State educators only) with a form to complete to request CTLE credit. Participants must also complete any in-course work to receive CTLE credit.

TWR sends a QuickBooks link with your invoice that will provide a direct method to pay via credit card or EFT. We also accept checks.

If your school is issuing a purchase order we will also process that in accordance with your school’s billing policy.

TWR offers a discount for schools and districts based on the number of educators that are enrolled in the same section of a course.

10% for 2+ educators enrolled in the same section of a course

20% for 10+ educators enrolled in the same section of a course

25% for 25+ educators enrolled in the same section of a course

30% for 50+ educators enrolled in the same section of a course

35% & a Private Course for 75+ educators enrolled in the same section of a course

In addition, the school principal and any district-level administrators may attend an introductory course at no fee with the enrollment of at least one other paid educator per free seat. Please note that the school principal and any district-level administrators must be enrolled in the same course.
